We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to join our safety team at Rudolph Libbe Inc. in Walbridge, OH. As a member of our safety team, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting company associates in achieving safety excellence by helping to identify existing and potential safety risks on current and upcoming projects, providing training, and performing site visits to verify that safety regulations and company policies are consistently implemented company wide.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  â€¢ Conducts jobsite and work area audits.
  â€¢ Supports management and field operations with championing RLG’s safety program.
  â€¢ Serves as a consultant to provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to all associates regarding RLG’s safety program.
  â€¢ Performs safety training and maintains training documentation.
  â€¢ Assists with the development of site-specific safety plans and site orientation.
  â€¢ Delivery of Safety Tool Box Talks, if requested.
  â€¢ Attends planning, pre-job, and project meetings to ensure safety concerns are being addressed and resolved.
  â€¢ Assists with incident reporting and investigations.
  â€¢ Assists with determination of corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.
  â€¢ Assists with the ordering, distribution, inspection, and maintenance of safety equipment.
 

SKILLS

  â€¢ Experience with developing and facilitating safety training
  â€¢ Ability to engage, communicate and positively influence others across the entire workforce
  â€¢ Strong time management and organizational skills
  â€¢ Availability for shift work, travel, and out of town assignments
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  â€¢ Candidates should have 3-5 years construction safety experience with the proven ability to identify workable solutions to eliminate hazards
  â€¢ 30 Hour OSHA Certification
  â€¢ CHST certification or similar preferred
  â€¢ Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or related field preferred
